  10.        This chapter lists supplemental information to the _I_R_I_S
  11.        _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e.  The information listed here is
  12.        product-specific; use it with the Installation Guide to
  13.        install The Out Of Box Experience

  15.        2.1  _T_h_e__O_u_t__O_f__B_o_x__E_x_p_e_r_i_e_n_c_e__S_u_b_s_y_s_t_e_m_s

  17.        The Out Of Box Experience includes these subsystems:

  19.        _O_u_t_O_f_B_o_x._s_w._i_n_t_r_o        The Out Of Box experience
  20.                                 introduction software and
  21.                                 datafiles.  This subsystem includes
  22.                                 the Out Of Box intro movies and
  23.                                 audio and the credits.  This
  24.                                 subsystem is the minimum required
  25.                                 on any system running The Out Of
  26.                                 Box Experience

  28.        _O_u_t_O_f_B_o_x._s_w._c_o_m_p_l_e_t_e     The Out Of Box experience complete
  29.                                 software and datafiles.  This
  30.                                 subsystem depends on the Out Of Box
  31.                                 intro subsystem.

  40.        This section lists the subsystems (and their sizes) of the
  41.        Out Of Box option.

  43.        If you are installing this option for the first time, the
  44.        subsystems marked ``default'' are installed if you use the
  45.        ``go'' menu item in _i_n_s_t.  To install a different set of
  46.        subsystems, use the ``install,'' ``remove,'' ``keep,'' and
  47.        ``step'' commands in _i_n_s_t to customize the list of
  48.        subsystems to be installed, then select the ``go'' menu
  49.        item.

  83.        2.3  _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n__M_e_t_h_o_d

  85.        All of the subsystems for The Out Of Box Experience can be
  86.        installed using IRIX.  You do not need to use the miniroot.
  87.        Refer to the _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e for complete
  88.        installation instructions.

  90.        2.3.1  _L_i_n_k_i_n_g__T_h_e__O_u_t__O_f__B_o_x__E_x_p_e_r_i_e_n_c_e  If you have
  91.        insufficient space under /_u_s_r/_p_e_o_p_l_e/_t_o_u_r for the subsystems
  92.        you intend to install, you can create an empty directory in
  93.        a disk partition containing sufficient space, and create a
  94.        symbolic link to it from /_u_s_r/_p_e_o_p_l_e/_t_o_u_r/_o_o_b.  To do this,
  95.        use the following commands (replacing _x with the name of a
  96.        partition containing sufficient space):

  104.        2.3.2  _N_F_S_-_M_o_u_n_t_i_n_g__T_h_e__O_u_t__O_f__B_o_x__E_x_p_e_r_i_e_n_c_e  You can NFS-
  105.        mount /_u_s_r/_p_e_o_p_l_e/_t_o_u_r/_o_o_b from another system onto your own
  106.        workstation.  Ask your system administrator to set this up
  107.        for you.  If you NFS-mount oob, you must still install the
  108.        digital media tools.

  113.        This release of The Out Of Box Experience is designed to be
  114.        compatible with all versions of IRIX 5.2

  116.        IRIS Inventor version 1.1.2, execution-only compatability
  117.        library, is required the Digital Media audio and movie
